The scope of the project included migrating Riverside's two existing business unit websites into the Umbraco multi site set up, and a complete website overhaul of Riverside’s main website. The previous website was not responsive, and the old CMS (SiteCore) was not admin-friendly, requiring significant external agency resources to manage. News-related content needed a prominent place on the site to showcase important activity across Riverside’s global offices. Language translation was a requirement in the RFP phase - solved-for natively within Umbraco - but not a priority for Phase 1 completion. As part of the website relaunch plan, Riverside IT was in search of a new hosting solution.
Riverside collaborated with Kaulig Media to design and develop a custom, responsive website built on the open-source CMS, Umbraco. An immersive discovery, content planning, and UX architecture phase unified efforts to create a website that showcased current news and updates, Riverside’s unique positioning, the global team, and highlighted Riverside’s operating values throughout. By defining the unique technical requirements, page layouts, and structure, Umbraco’s grid editor capabilities provided the flexibility that was needed.
Additionally, and a critical consideration for many firms, Kaulig Media’s development team led discussions around the recommended hosting solution - Microsoft Azure - and helped Riverside implement the new website on this hosting platform.
With the corporate and business unit websites successfully completed, Riverside is equipped to centrally manage and efficiently expand web content, communicate company-wide news, and perhaps most importantly, free up resources to new digital initiatives. Continuing the partnership, Kaulig Media implemented a data-driven assessment to determine the ongoing need for language translation, produced animated videos for The Riverside Company conferences, and helps to field new requests across our digital service offerings.
